In a twist on the Song Swapping thread, which we don't have right now, I thought it would be cool to share myspace links for bands we like. I'll post a couple to begin... The Universe - I guess I should include a brief explanation, but I'm just going to end up copying from the "About the band" bit, in fact, that's just what i'm going to do: ‘The Outer Void Intrepid Sailor,’ is the brainchild of brothers Lachlan and Gus Franklin who, along with musical think-alike Ben Browning and other assorted friends and collaborators form a group called; theUniverse. Having spent many a childhood year together in the family car, writing spasmodic ditties to add to their very own fictional top40 ‘Chart’, the brothers - whilst driving down to family Christmas one year – had a revelatory moment about their place within the universe. Out of this moment – beyond the feeling of total insignificance – came an idea about a project. the idea was to write, arrange and record a collection of songs with the common theme of ‘Space.’ The project (affectionately referred to as ‘the space album,’) was to be an album that would somehow give a similar feeling that the brothers had felt in the car that day. The results of two years sporadic work, (in between other musical projects such as the Smallgoods, Architecture in Helsinki and The Ca$inos), culminates with 12 songs which vary in style, substance, singer, songwriter and production, to complete a working whole. A whole where pop is the format, but space is the catalyst, expanding and contracting trace elements of the last fifty years of harmony driven pop music. The fantastically named "Morningwood" - This band are just great fun and tend to put me in a bouncy happy mood, there's a video for one of there songs too (Nth Degree), which is pretty ace too, if you can get it to work, I think there is another link for it if you go to their main site.

I'd be wasting my time posting my bands because I don't think many people are into punk, and you've probably heard of alot of them anyways

I like punk, Jason, and I rarely have contact with the modern world, except through this board. You'd be helping me out. Oh, also www.myspace.com/architecttheband. They're strange, yet very good, if you're into any kind of prog rock. Even if you're not, the drummer is sculpted from loveliness and so you should listen. I think most people here have alreday heard www.myspace.com/jennyowenyoungs, but she's good enough for some more pimping. Smart lyrics, beautiful voice, catchy tunes. What more could you ask?

They were supposed to play at my mate's night in Birmingham, but it all went wrong, the venue screwed us, and it was sad.

Yes, I really like her stuff, and I keep missing her in msn to tell her how great she is. (thereby blagging a mention on her album when she gets famous)

2 Young Knives songs have come on my iPod in a row. And I'm still annoyed that they don't appear to be coming back to bristol on the new tour.

They're not playing Leicester either, otherwise you'd be welcome to come and visit. How dare they not take us into consideration.

Maybe they are planning surprise gigs at both our houses...
I'd consider going to one of the London gigs, if I had enough money, but I really don't.
