I'm going to start a new thread about this everyone seen this: www.eels.nl/1996/eels19850000baddude.htmlnow let's all cry over the fact that we will probably never hear it, or at least not soon. I'm guessing the first song "everyone is trying to bum me out" = flower. Unless he just reused the line, it's a good line.

Wow.....this just makes me wonder how many more "albums" there are like this. I'd like to spend some time in E's basement. And steal all his tapes.

Haha yeah. If he was ginger, he'd be a good Hank Scorpio (the crimelord who was Homer Simpson's boss when they moved to the country that time).

I had to exalt Maple, too. Tom Selleck earns an exalting any day of the week, but most of all Mondays.

1985! WOW! There's seven years between this and the first "real album". Was Joe Mama Records his own label/ a friends local label? I guess that CD's weren't really settled in yet... Was E really a "bad dude"? I haven't read the term dude anywhere since Bill & Ted's excellent adventures by the way How many LP's were printed? Recorded At Soundscape,Falls Church Va & Takoma Recording. Does that ring a bell around here? I guess it were some local studios or something? Does VA stand for Virginia? I also found that Takoma Recording (Takoma, Maryland) was started in 1959 by a person called John Fahey. More can be read here www.hickorytech.net/~tlkremer/existla.htm. There isn't much information about the label or the studio however. And who are Granger Helvey, Cheyenne Wilson, Mike Kelly, Bob Read, Mark Pohien,Kevin Cooke, Mike Melchione, Chris Ivy, Jimbo Manion, Richard Aspinwall and the Ever-etts: Cyndi Krombholz, Sandi Welch? Were they all friends or were anyone of them involved in making professional music? AARGH! Now I'm all excited about something I'll never hear!

Another remark: I think I'm a fan of Eels since 1997 or something and I've been around on the internet since at least 1999. And all that time there were hardly any rumours about mysterious tracks or records. But since september or something ebay is almost literally bursting with strange things... Why the hell are there so many things all of a sudden?

And all that time there were hardly any rumours about mysterious tracks or records. But since september or something ebay is almost literally bursting with strange things... Why the hell are there so many things all of a sudden? to celebrate 10 years of Eels? ;-) he he... apart from Embryo, I think nobody even saw this pop up on eBay... I also missed it... it's been there about 4 days according to Embryo... 1985... wow, back in the days when I was still a young boy, he he... Actually what I'm most curious about is how that Bad Dude I Love t-shirt looked that could be ordered. Next to actually owning this album, I think that's probably the coolest collector's item that could be out there (if any still exist). By the way, maybe someone should photoshop that picture of E so that the text is gone. I really would not like it if such personal stuff was being out there if I were him... and probably all of us here have the best interests with/for E, so maybe we could do him that favour?

I suspect this was a record E. put out himself under his own "label." Lots of musicians do that. Just get the bucks for studio time and burning the cds themselves or paying someone to. Are we sure it's a cd? And that photo of him in the white tee with the guitar reminds me a lot of Springsteen on I think "Darkness on the Edge of Town".

once got offered a soundboard tape for a 1996 show. I turned it down because the guy was asking WAY too much money for it... I mean in the thousands of dollars... Maybe that will eventually find it's way onto eBay... I really think there won't be much more actually. Although you never know what some stupid people at the recordcompanies will be selling to 2nd hand recordstores. I bought some rough mixes for the first Novastar album recently. 4 cd's with different versions of the songs that ended up on the actual album. And it was a staggering 2 euro's I paid for it ;-) he he...
Okay. So let's sum it up, the most rare Eels items that are there... but will probably never end up on eBay:
1985 - Bad Dude In Love LP 1985 - Bad Dude in Love t-shirt 1994 - E - Ultra Rare Trax (tape that was sent out to fans) 1996 - Beautiful Freak sampler cassette with Trashing The Cathedral on it 2003 - License To Eel cd
anything missing?
